TESOL Leadership Development Certificate Program Online Workshops, September-October 2012
The workshops are designed for members who are interested in learning more about the association and in developing their skills as leaders of the association and its affiliates.

Developed by TESOL's Board of Directors, the LDCP is open to all TESOL members.  Participants must be members of TESOL.

* About TESOL, 10 - 23 September, 2012, with Sandy Briggs (past president of TESOL, 2007-2008)

Provides a general overview of the TESOL association: the governance and infrastructure, the Board of Directors, the TESOL Office and its staff, programs, publications, the annual convention, and advocacy. It focuses on how TESOL works, where you can find more information, and how you can become an effective TESOL leader.

* Perspectives on Leadership for TESOL, 1 -14 October, 2012, with Sandy Briggs

The participants will explore ways in which they are already leaders and ways in which they can add to their leadership skills. They will work on assembling a plan for leadership in their future. The focus will be on leadership in TESOL.

These online workshops are free for TESOL Global and Student members.  The registration fee is $50 per workshop for all other members. For more information, visit

TESOL Quarterly looking for a new editor

Are you the next TESOL Quarterly editor?
The TESOL Board of Directors invites applications and nominations for the position of editor of TESOL Quarterly. The editor serves a 5-year term beginning in January, and the new editor must be a TESOL member in good standing by the beginning of his or her term. 
The editor receives an honorarium of US$4,000 per year along with reimbursement of some expenses to attend the annual TESOL convention. 
The deadline for applications is 17 September 2012 
The call for applicants and the application materials are available for download.

VSTE call for proposals

The Virginia Society for Technology in Education is having its annual conference December 2-4 in Virginia Beach. So, there's no excuse for you all not to go and present! The call for proposals is open from now through September 27. Let me know if you're planning to submit, or if you'd like to collaborate on any interesting tech projects. We've got iPads now, so let's use them!
