I am an English Teacher Second Language in northern Spain, working in a rural area. It is not my first year here, it is the second, my experience teaching is larger.
this september I am doubting, questioning the methodology, the need of ALL that material with the children, and something I had known for long, class periods of 55 minutes are insufficient.
The ECML in Graz has already some investigation on this I mention about time, etc.

Besides problems with children who have no education on well learnt little or nothing today. Or they are six, seven, and untill they turn 16 when compulsory education is over class-time will be a nightmare for them and the teachers and their classmates.
